JOSEPH GRENIER Joseph Grenier né à St. Labre le 26 décembre, 1925, est décéder paisiblement le 7 mars, 2017 au Centre Taché. He leaves to mourn his wife of 60 years, Rollande (née Leblanc), daughter Léona Troia, and sons Alphonse (Clydine), Robert (Deana), Raymond (Rose), Roland (Colette) as well as six grandchildren Scott, Jacques, Justin, Tia, Brittany, Ciara, and several great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Alphonse and Marie-Ange (née Ross), sisters Alphonsisne, Clemence, Yvonne, Angeline, Denise, brother George, son-in-law Sam Troia, and great-grandson Benjamin. Joe is survived by his sisters Alexandrine Gérardy, Laurette Fontaine, Esther Gagnon (Louis), brothers Paul (Florence), Hubert (Stella), Rosaire (Jeannette), Norbert (Lorraine), sister-in-law Irène Grenier, and brother-in-law Adélard Tourond. Nieces, nephews, and a large extended family remain to mourn, which are too numerous to mention. Joe était ingénieur à l'Hospice Taché pour plus de 35 années. He was among a few who were instrumental in unionizing co-workers which led to their joining MGEU. He was involved in the infancy of the Caisse Populaire movement, joined the Knights of Columbus and sat on many boards. Politics, hockey, baseball and cards were all passions of his. Joe's circle of friends knew him as a "bon vivant" and could depend on his wise counsel. Needless to say family and community were of utmost importance to him. The family wish to thank the staff of 2 DE at Actionmarguerite for the care of Dad. The funeral will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. • My condolences to the family. I did not know Joseph very well, as a friend of Leona's I did however hear a lot about him. My fondest memory of Joseph though, is spending one Christmas Eve with his family. It was particularly difficult for myself and two youngest children that holiday season. I will never forget the warmth and generosity of the family and how Joseph and "Olly" payed card games with the boys all evening and kept them well entertained with no lack of laughter. No doubt he enjoyed being with the young ones very much. It sure made that holiday season so much easier for us to get through. RIP Joseph, for we know there is another angel looking over us! - Posted by: Lesley-Ann Reutlinger (Family Friend) on: Mar 13, 2017
