I met Biron at archaeological field school, where we briefly shared a room. He was an assistant instructor in my course and we became friends, though we lost touch over the years. He was a multi-talented individual, funny, and wise far beyond his years. He encouraged me and is part of the reason I became an anthropologist. The world is less rich without someone like him in it. - Posted by: Wayne Fife (Friend) on: May 26, 2020

What a loss (I've just been made aware) of a kind, many-talented man who lived in our neighbourhood for a long time. My friend and I would frequently encounter him on his all-weather daily walk through Elmwood Cemetery and environs. He had such a wry sense of humour and we had great chats and laughs over local, environmental and political issues. - Posted by: Maureen Hughes (Neighbour) on: Jul 04, 2017

What a sad day to hear of another colleague's passing. I admired Biron for his dedication and enthusiasm about all things archaeological, especially anything to do with Eden sites, and for his willingness to share his knowledge with everyone. Then there was his classical guitar playing--such a talent. He will be missed. - Posted by: Margaret Hanna ((another ancient colleague)) on: Apr 03, 2017

I haven't seen Biron in a fair while and am taken aback by his sudden passing. We shared many chuckles over a beer and at various "digs". He was a very talented and thoughtful man and the world is poorer for his departure. - Posted by: Mary Ann Tisdale (ancient colleague) on: Mar 26, 2017

My condolences to all family and friends of Biron. I know Biron through Judo, where he helped me with my kata. Biron also helped me start the History Committee for Judo Manitoba. After I moved to Saskatchewan, he introduced me to his archaeological site in Ogema, where he was originally from and near where I live. I even took my Gr 6-8 Science class to the site when there was a public excavation going on. He kept me informed on the progress at the site as well. Biron was a man of many talents and he will be missed greatly. - Posted by: Dale Berglund (Friend) on: Mar 22, 2017

Biron was a good friend. I really miss him. I practiced judo with him at the University of Manitoba. He taught me judo kata and was an excellent teacher. I'll miss his expertise on the mat and his sense of humor. - Posted by: Bill Leckie (friend) on: Mar 18, 2017
