JOHN PETER KOOISTRA John Kooistra peacefully passed away in Riverview Health Centre on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the age of 52. John is predeceased by his father Peter VanTol and stepfather Douwe Kooistra. John is survived to cherish his memory by his wife Christine; his children, Tyler (Ashley) and Mark; his mother Willie Stam; his brother Brian (Kim); sisters, Jolanda (Keith), Patricia (Edwin), Marja (Daryl); nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. He was born in Ottawa, ON and raised in Dresden and Wallaceburg. He moved to Brandon and lived in Brandon prior to moving to Winnipeg in 2005. He drove truck with Paul's Hauling, Roto Rooter, Viper Construction and Burrow Down Hydro-vac & Jetting. John loved fishing, animals, working on vehicles, building car models, cooking, barbequing, and he took great pleasure in planting a garden every summer. John was also an amazing husband, father, son and brother. John's families would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses for their compassion and kindness at CancerCare Manitoba and Riverview Health Centre. A Celebration of John's life will take place Friday March 24, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to the CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
