Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I'm very sorry to hear of Richard's passing. I first met Richard at my High School career day, where we struck up a lengthy conversation about a career in the Drafting profession, and at the conclusion, offered me his business card and encouraged me to follow up with him after my graduation to discuss an opportunity in that field. He graciously ended up hiring me to work at his firm, and became my mentor in the Drafting field, and after a time, became his first employee when he started his sole venture as Waywest Detailing. Those early years were very memorable, and Richard became not only a respectful employer, but a good friend, often tolerating my youthful antics and sharing many laughs until we parted ways in the mid 80's amidst the economic collapse of the construction industry. i know it was difficult for him to have had to downsize, with me being the last to go, but his example of entrepreneurial confidence helped to launch me out on my own (and life-long) venture as an entrepreneur. although I took up golf slightly later in my early thirties, it would have been great to have partnered with you on the course and enjoyed more of your contagious laughter. Thank you for your patience, direction, support and belief, Richard. Rest well, my friend. - Posted by: Terry Wowchuk (Colleague, friend) on: Feb 28, 2022

  • I am saddened to hear of the loss of my cousin Richard. I hadn't seen Richard in years. He is family and that's all that matters. I would like to pay my sincere condolences to his family. Keep smiling Richard. Enjoy your curling and golf games up there. You will make many draws and takeouts on the curling ice. The drives on the fairways will be long and straight. I'm sure you will make a few birdies too. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Jerald Kulbaba (Cousin) on: Mar 24, 2017

  • I am so sorry for your loss. Your dad was always so nice, so kind, and smiling all the time. My thoughts are with you and your family. - Posted by: Pam Mansky (Friend of Deb Karp) on: Mar 22, 2017
