We have fond memories of camping with Shirley and family at Hallock. She was such a beautiful, happy lady and anyone that met her would be welcomed into her family. Deepest sympathy to Shirley's family. - Posted by: Terry & Ken Hooper (Friends of Hilly & Sue) on: Apr 01, 2017

Shirley was quite the bus driver. My kids started taking her school bus (KINGS) in 2005. St. James SD thought it was fine for my 3 kids to cross Roblin Blvd. and wait on the 5 foot wide shoulder on Roblin Blvd. which was a hwy. Shirley made noise at the SD offices and told my kids to wait on the much safer, wider side street until she arrived, then they could cross with the school bus stop sign out. She would always look out for them if they were a bit late getting out to the road. I drive a City Bus and Shirley knew this. Whenever I would see her or she saw me in my City Bus, there was always a wave. Shirley looked after the kids like they were her own. My kids have been off of School buses now for 7 or 8 years. I am very thankful for the job she did. My condolences to you as her beloved family. It is so sad to lose a Mum. - Posted by: The Klassens (my 3 kids school bus driver) on: Mar 26, 2017

To all of Shirley's family we send our sincere condolences. She was one great fun loving lady.. We have many great memories of baseball games, bonspiels, and community club events that we spent with Shirley and Hilly. The times spent at our kitchen table setting up bonspiels while drinking coffee with Shirley's homemade special sweetener added. Those are beautiful memories we will always cherish. The many many Saturday mornings over those early years when Megan and Shirley supervised up to 32 plus enthusiastic young curlers at the famous St Francois Xavier Curling Club, and the weekly baseball games in the Charleswood Ladies Recreational Baseball League as well as the week-end baseball tournaments. We miss those times as we miss Shirley. She was so community minded. Shirley, enjoy being with Hilly, say hello from us! - Posted by: Roger and Megan Poitras (Friends) on: Mar 25, 2017
