WALTER KORELL It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Walter Korell on Monday, March 20, 2017, at the age of 82, at the St. Boniface Hospital. Walter was born in Winnipeg on July 11, 1934, and raised his family in Transcona. Walter will be lovingly remembered by his children Guy (Cindy), Tracy (Dale), Cindy, Darcy (Nicole), and Tammy (Grant), together with his grandchildren Brady (Brittni), Brittany (Dylan), Kelsey (Shane), Jason (Kristine), Justin (Kelsey), Meagan (Ryan), Sheldon, Ryan, Corey and Taylor, and one great-grandson, Kash. He is also survived by his sister Terry, and brothers Lou and John. Walter spent most of his life in Winnipeg and was employed as a professional painter, eventually opening his own business, named Transcona Painting and Decorating. After retirement, Walter moved out west to Airdrie, Alberta where he lived with his sister. These were happy years for Walter where he made many close friends and enjoyed life to the fullest. Walter recently came back home to Winnipeg, where he lived with his son and daughter in-law, Darcy and Nikki in Ile-Des- Chenes. Walter enjoyed frequent visits to his favourite hangout Club Regent Casino. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to all staff at the St. Boniface Hospital and an extended thank you to the 6th floor staff members for their care and support. At Walter's request there will be no formal service, there will be a private family gathering at a later date. Out of Walter's love for his family pets, Pumpkin, Chopper and Kasper, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
