Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKRISTINE ANNA LINDQUIST 1930 - 2017 With great sadness, we announce the death of our beloved Kris on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Deer Lodge Centre, at the age of 86 years. Left to cherish Kris' memory are her children, Brent (Carol), Larry (Shelley) and Marilynne; sisters, Ann (Paul) Rod and Barbara (Dick) Hoy; grandsons, Daniel (Julia), Christopher (Suri) and Lars; as well as many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Carl; parents, Steve and Barbara Venus and siblings, Elizabeth, Steve and Mary. Kris was born in Sprague, MB on April 11, 1930. She left home at a relatively young age to gain employment and develop her independence. Kris met and then married Carl in 1952. Together they raised their three children, living at various times in northwestern Ontario, The Pas, Dauphin and Winnipeg. Mom was a devoted and energetic wife and mother and an excellent homemaker. Her homemade bread and cinnamon buns were family favorites. Mom and Dad subsequently move back to Sprague in 1979 and enjoyed 20 years of happy and tranquil retirement. They enjoyed renovating Carl's childhood house, traveling throughout Canada, gardening and picking blueberries. They moved back to Winnipeg in 1998 to be close to family. Following Carl's death in 2010, Mom continued to live an active and independent life. She was very creative, spending hours on quilting, knitting and other crafts. Mom was a bright, generous and caring individual, who made friends readily. She was a charming and appreciative woman who was very grateful to those who helped her throughout her life and those who provided care during her period of declining health. Her warm smile will be forever remembered. In compliance with Mom's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. A private Interment will be held in the Sprague cemetery at a later date. The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Oakview Place and Deer Lodge Centre for their compassionate care. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time, how I remember both your parents, and their visits to my parents' home. How I enjoyed the pickles she made with garlic and cream, they were the best. - Posted by: Tom Hebel () on: Mar 26, 2017
