TOM VAN RAES Peacefully, and with his daughters by his side, at the age of 80, Tom went to join his wife, Margaret, in Heaven, his parents, Tom and Flo Van Raes, and his in-laws, Kay and Walter Prestenski. Missing him greatly are his daughters, Donna Cushnie-Alexander, Brenda Van Raes and Karen Seymour and his son-in-law, Bill Seymour, as well as his grandchildren, Lee Cushnie, David Chartrand (Michelle), Sherri Flint (Anson), Stephanie Chartrand, Laura Seymour and Michael Seymour. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Tyler and Emily Chartrand, Noah Cushnie and Darian Flint. Sandra, Willow and Alessia held a special place in his heart. His siblings, Ray (Diane), Pat (Monty), Paul (Deb), Corinne (Brian), and Bill have many stories to share with us. Tom also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and friends. His "happy hour" partner, Al, will think of him every day at 4:30 p.m. Dad was born and raised in St. Boniface. In his teens he began working in the mail room at the Canadian Pacific Railway and retired as the Deputy Chief Accountant. Dad had many hobbies but his biggest passion was golf. He also enjoyed bowling and music, especially jazz and big band. He was a drummer and played many gigs in the 1960s and early 1970s. A celebration of his life, where we can share memories, will be held in July 2017. Details to follow.
