ERNEST (BILL) WILLIAM BRIGHAM April 17, 1931 - March 16, 2017 On Thursday, March 16, 2017, Bill Brigham passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital, at the age of 85 years. Bill will be remembered by his sons, Dennis (Gail) and James (Gail); grandchildren, Curtis, Simon, Elizabeth, Emily, Maura and Clare; great-grandchildren, Saul and Raisa, and an extensive stepfamily. He was predeceased by his parents, Ernie and Lily, and his two wives, Lorna and Jean. Bill was born in Winnipeg and raised in Winnipeg's West End during the depression. He had a happy childhood, developing friendships that lasted for the rest of his life. Bill attended Gordon Bell High School before pursuing his love of aviation at Trans-Canada Airlines, which he stayed with until he retired. He worked for a long time as an aircraft mechanic before moving on to maintenance planning, for which he won the Air Canada Award of Excellence in 1986. Bill enjoyed his summers at the family cottages at Falcon Lake and Winnipeg Beach. He also enjoyed car trips with his wife Jean. In compliance with Bill's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. As many can attest, Bill was a kind person, giving generously of his time after he retired and donating regularly to charities for the less fortunate. In his last days, Bill enjoyed visits from Val, Brenda, his cousin Jim Dale and his old friend Donn Kirton. Thanks to all who took the time to visit and forwarded their best wishes. He also greatly appreciated his long-lasting relationships with cousins Judy Anderson, Sue Nicholls and old friend Ron Magnuson. The family would also like to thank Unit 4 of Victoria Hospital for their care and attention in Bill's last days.
