JOAN MARGARET IRWIN (nee SNEESBY) October 18, 1933 - March 21, 2017 Peacefully in her sleep after a short illness, Joan passed away in Grace Hospital at the age of 83 years. Joan is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Harold; son Ralph (Dale); grandchildren, Brenna (Chris), Tanner (Maricar) and Hilary; and by two adorable granddaughters, Emma and Sophie. She was predeceased by her parents, Isabel and Walter Sneesby. After high school, Joan worked at Eaton's downtown in the grocery department and later at Sears Polo Park in Women's Sportswear. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, playing cards and occasional outings to play the VLT's. Joan and Harold enjoyed travelling in their earlier years to Arizona, Hawaii, and a cruise in the Caribbean. Although Joan was an "only child", she had a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins on both the Sneesby and Mullan sides, and family gatherings were frequent with lots of food and laughter. Joan was extremely proud of the accomplishments of all of her family. She would often pop in to see Ralph and Tanner at their office to invite them to her home for lunch. Joan attended most, if not all, of her family's Christmas concerts, graduations, plays, softball, hockey and soccer games. Joan enjoyed hearing all about Brenna's students and also loved going to the movie theater with Hilary. On Monday, March 27, 2017 Joan's Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. in Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Drive in Winnipeg, followed by a reception in the Church's Rainbow Room. Private interment to follow. The family would like to thank Dr. I. McGregor, the doctors, nurses and support staff at the Grace Hospital ER, ICU and Ward 3S for their professional and compassionate care.
