My grandmother and I had a rather unique relationship. I was fortunate enough to share a lot of one on one alone time with my grandma which I cherished. I would take the train from Edmonton to Winnipeg as a small boy and spend some of my summer holidays with her. Everyone who ever had contact with her is a better person for it. She would always greet me with a warm smile and offer me a meal so we got along well. Her kindness is unparalleled, her anger unheard of and virtue unswayed. She could warm your heart with a look or with her famous batch of chocolate chip cookies, both highly sought after. We would walk together to the bakery to get fresh bread and maybe sneak in a Bismark. To me and many others she was a rock, leading our family in kindness, perseverance, humbleness, humility and tenderness. Our Matriarch has passed, our hearts are heavy, tears will fall; she lives on inside each and everyone one of us... Goodbye Grandma. - Posted by: Jon Stewart (Grandson) on: Apr 08, 2017

My sincere condolences to all of you in this time of sorrow. May the happiness you all shared with your mom be warmly remembered and that those memories may help ease the pain of your loss. Remembering all the fun youthful moments shared with you all and made more wonderful because of your wonderful and beautiful mother. May she rest in safe arms now. From the little girl across the way You were the Mom, of my very first friend, who still is my friend today. Soft spoken, and kind with a beautiful smile. You'd listen and always say something nice, as I would sing to you, for a while. Your home was more beautiful all cause of you. You were always so busy, with five kids to raise. You made sweaters and mittens and sewed clothes for your children and Barbie Dolls too. Something fresh baked set off to the side, each morning when I came over to play. You hosted the very best birthday parties I've ever seen. Hand cut fries and tea parties that were fit for a queen. I see a bit of you in my childhood friend, I treasure those moments, made special by you. Later in life, my two little girls had tea parties too.
