DARLENE SWARBRICK November 21, 1946 - March 27, 2017 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Blanche Darlene Swarbrick at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba with family by her side on March 27, 2017. Everyone knew her as Darlene as that is what she preferred to go by. Darlene was born and raised in Winnipeg and moved to British Columbia with her immediate family. She eventually settled in Revelstoke, BC. This is where she was employed when she very proudly spoke about being the second woman across Canada to work as a conductor for Canadian Pacific Railway. She made many friends and many memories while working there. If you were lucky to have heard some of her funny stories you would cherish them as much as Darlene did. Years later she moved back to Winnipeg and found great comfort in the company of her very large family and enjoyed all the laughter and memories they shared. We all have a special memory of her and knew that if she didn't remember someone's name, she always had a back up plan and just called everyone " babe" At her request the cremation has already taken place and there will be no service. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. May you Rest in Peace. Please feel free to donate to CancerCare Manitoba in honor of Darlene.
