ROY STRONSKI With broken hearts we announce the passing of Roy Michael Stronski on March 26, 2017, at the Portage General Hospital, after a brief illness. He is survived by his sweetie of 50 years, Ann Marie (Grobb), daughters Sandy (Stacy) Plouffe, Debbie (Curt) Wyatt, Pam Stronski and seven special grandchildren, Colt, Mason and Camryn Plouffe, Connor and Taylor Wyatt, Ashley Stronski and Aaron Liddle. Roy was born in Portage La Prairie, MB to Stella and Michael Stronski and was the youngest of four children. He was predeceased by his three older sisters Beatrice (John), Connie (Glen) and Doreen (Walter). Roy was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing hockey and baseball in his younger years, and more recently loved to travel to watch his grandchildren compete in their activities. Roy and Ann Marie lived an active life in Winnipeg while raising their three daughters. Roy always ensured his daughters were active in sports and spent many hours driving them to games and practices. They loved the Charleswood community where they had a great network of neighbours and friends. Winters were spent curling or playing bridge and summers spent at Delta Beach or entertaining around the pool. In 1992 Roy and Ann Marie were transferred back to Portage allowing them to be closer to family. They enjoyed always living with a view of Crescent Lake - first in their home and later in their condo. Roy had a very fulfilling career. He often shared fond memories of his time working in Churchill with brother-in-law John Popko. Back in Portage, he worked at the Campbell Soup factory and later moved to Winnipeg in the mid 1970s to join Royal Insurance as a Boiler Inspector. He later joined the Province of Manitoba in the Department of Labour as a Boiler Inspector where he worked until his retirement in 2007. In their retirement years, they would often be on the road to places such as British Columbia, Alberta, Texas, North Dakota and any place Roy could drive! To his grandchildren he was known as Silly Papa, always quick to find ways to make them laugh. He was the best entertainer for his grandchildren and anyone else who was in the vicinity to see the show. As the years would pass, his love for family continued to shine as he taught everyone the meaning of devotion by providing care to Ann Marie. He became Super Papa for Ann Marie as he devoted the past few years to making sure she was not only well cared for but also making sure she continued to have great experiences. She was often quoted as saying "he's my hero" and he was in fact the hero of all his family! As per Roy's request there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank Dr. Nagra, Dr. Lewis and all the nurses at the Portage Hospital who provided such exemplary care to Roy. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Portage Hospital Foundation. www.portagehospitalfoundation.ca

I just found out today that your wonderful father passed away so suddenly. I have the best memories of your parents getting together with my parents (Frank and Cynthia). Your dad had the best sense of humour. My heart goes out to his beautiful family. - Posted by: Bridget (Lewis) Davidson (Family friend) on: Apr 07, 2017

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time. I worked with Roy at M & E in the Winnipeg office. Roy always spoke so highly of all his girls. Roy was such a pleasure to work with. Knowing that he is in a better place now will help ease the pain. - Posted by: Cathy Evanyshyn ((co-worker at M&E)) on: Apr 03, 2017

To the Stronski family, The Neshevich family wish to send their deepest condolences to your family and to Debbie Wyatt, daughter of Roy Stronski and wife to my cousin Curt Wyatt. We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Your dad's life sounded like it was full of joy and love for his wife and family. I know how sports were an integral part of your life Debbie and we see now that your dad was instrumental in that part of your life. Anyone who has such love and deep devotion to his wife in her time of need is truly "a hero". Remember that we are thinking of you and send our love. My deepest sympathy to you and your family Sandy. A few weeks ago when you told me about the trials and tribulations of your family, the one thing that was very clear was how wonderful your father was in his devotion and care of his wife and family. You will miss him greatly. I also hope you remember how fortunate you were to have a wonderful dad. - Posted by: Dianne Kennedy (co-worker) on: Apr 01, 2017
