HEINZ (HENRY) SACHSE It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Heinz Sachse on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the age of 89. Heinz was born in Brachstedt, Germany on December 10, 1927 and immigrated to Canada in 1956. He was predeceased by his wife Christa (Hildebrand), father Fritz and mother Frieda. Heinz resided in Elmwood and lived in his home until the time of his passing. Heinz was always kind and considerate of others and an incredibly talented man. He will be dearly missed by the Sponagel family of Clandeboye, MB, the Grahame family of Winnipeg, and all others who were fortunate enough to know him. Prayers were held Sunday night in his old church in Brachstedt. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. Viewing is from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by a Graveside Service. Following the funeral, a gathering to Celebrate Heinz's Life will be held at his residence.

  • I am so sorry to hear of Heinz' passing, and equally sorry I just learned of this today (April 8th) and as such unfortunately missed his funeral service. Heinz and Christa and my mom and dad were long-time friends for many years. Heinz and my dad Fred regularly walked the trails in Birds Hill Park - at first my mom joined them, then on her passing Luise would walk with them, until it was just Heinz and Fred walking the trails regardless of the weather. In later years I often joined them on Saturdays, and we then enjoyed going for coffee at the BHP Ranch, where they were regulars. After my dad passed away, Heinz would still come to the park on occasion, and Heinz, John and I would then sit and have coffee. Unfortunately during the last few years Heinz was unable to come out to the park, and we missed his company. RIP ... Ruhe sanft, Heinz! - Posted by: Irene Klotz (friend) on: Apr 08, 2017
