BARBARA ANN JONES November 29, 1937- April 3, 2017 On Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Victoria General Hospital, Barbara passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 79 years. Barbara is survived by daughters, Karen Jones, Corrina Grouette, Cathy (John) Demelo; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene, Joyce, Bev, Shirley and Victoria; sister-in-law Shirley (Joe) Freil; and brother-in-law Allan (Maria) Jones. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon; son Johnny; and grandson Darcy; sisters, Joan and Carol; parents, Arthur and Beatrice. Mom was happiest during family gatherings and no matter how sick she was, she always had to make her cheesecake. Mom loved being outside when she was able. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and most of all, her Saturday night bingo at Earl Grey Community Centre where she made a lot of friends, who will miss her dearly. Mom was the kind of person who did everything in her power to help anyone, in any way she could. The love she had for grandchildren and great-grandchildren was nothing short of amazing, and they felt the same way about her. A Celebration of Life and luncheon will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Earl Grey Community Centre, 360 Cockburn Street North. A private family Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. • I was truly saddened to hear of Barbs passing. I have many fond memories of her,Gordon and her children growing up on Newdale Avenue. The fact she lived right next door to my parents,it's safe to say, she was over at our house quite often visiting my mother and father. I always remember her as having a huge smile on her face, and Its the same smile I recognized in her photo. To her family, my deepest condolences, my love and prayers are with you all in this difficult time. • I can't tell you the shock I felt when I got the news that Barb had passed away. I'm so so sorry that you will be missing your mom. I have so many memories of the time I spent at the Jone's house, weather it be on Newdale or Waller Ave, at grand beach. Geez there are so many thoughts and memories. She will be missed. • I was shocked that my Aunty Barb passed on. I am happy in the sense that she has been reunited with her son John, grandson Darcy and her husband Gordon. My sadness and deep condolences are for her girls Karen, Corrinna and Cathy; her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a special aunt to me since I was a young child. I was always excited to see her because, even though she was there to visit the adults, she always took the time to have a little conversation with me. I love you Aunty Barb. . .till we meet again. Always in my heart. 💖 - Posted by: Sandy Jones (Niece) on: Apr 05, 2017
