STARR September 27, 1943 - April 3, 2017 It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, brother in-law and friend, Douglas Raymond Starr who passed away suddenly at the George M. Guimond Care Centre Inc. at the age of 73. Douglas is survived by his wife of 47 years Mabel Starr; his children, Brenda, Jason (Stacy), Nadine (Adrian), Jolene (Milton), Justin and Nathan; his siblings, Myrtle, Russell (Frances), Mel, Alma, Lorna, Suzie, Ernest, Hilda, Patrick and Bradley, in-laws, George, Felix Sr, Marge (Henry), Frank (Rhonda), Val (Alan) and William; numerous nieces and nephews. Douglas was predeceased by his parents Donald Starr Sr. and Edna Mann; and stepfather Samual Mann; siblings, Donald, Jeanine, Randy and Evelyn; his uncle Jack; sister-in-law Grace Starr; brother-in-law Donald Abraham; and grandchild Rain. Wake Services, Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Mabel Starr's House #58 and Wednesday, April 5 to April 7, 2017 at Black River First Nation Band Hall. The funeral will be on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Black River Anglican Church. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at George M. My human hero, the man that had my most respect, who's strength and courage to fight for his family, I love you and miss you every day, You were and still are such an important person in my life. I am truly sorry for not being able to tell you how much you mean to me while you were still alive but I know you know now the impact you carried within me, because I know your with the Creator now. I am sorry I may be at lost within my self right now but it was good to visit you Christmas. I write this as I pray for you to send some of that strength my way from Heaven as the new year begins.
