BARBARA LYNN SMITH-MOLLOY May 17, 1958 - April 5 2017 At home, with her husband and family by her side, Barb passed away from a courageous battle against cancer. Barb's greatest passion in life was travel. As one trip ended she could not wait to start planning the next adventure from swimming in the Great Barrier Reef to climbing Zermatt. Barb's travels took her to six different Continents but her favourite destination was always the cottage at Minaki - best enjoyed on the veranda with friends. Barb valued family and friends more than anything and frequently hosted gourmet gatherings with colourful birthday cakes. She was delighted by her apple tree and flowers, and grew vegetables relished by the local rodent population. Barb's generous and giving spirit will be dearly missed by her husband of 18 years, Bob Molloy; her mother Peggy Smith; her siblings Brian (Heather), Wendy (Jim), and Maureen (Martin); stepson Dallas (Natalia); grandsons Nathan and Alexander; her in-laws Bill and Caroline, William (Sandra), Kathy (Andy), Kenneth (Kerri), and Patrick (Sheila); extended family Jim, Eleanor, Meagan, Ben, Jodi, Claire, and 12 wonderful nephews and nieces. Special thanks to Christine and Charlie for all their love and support. I would like to thank Dr. Ralph Wong and all the nurses and staff at St. Boniface CancerCare for their tireless efforts over the last eight years. No service by request. In lieu of flowers, please donate to CancerCare. "Barb wasn't perfect, but I wasn't perfect either, but we were perfect together." - Love you Always Bob

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • My condolences to Barb's family on her passing. We grew up together in the West End and I have many fond memories of our times together at Clifton, Sargent Park and DMCI. We shared in many adventures and good times over those years. I remember how much she loved the cottage at Minaki and downhill skiing. Unfortunately we lost contact over the years but I am truly sorry to hear of her passing. - Posted by: Carol (James) & Richard Howard (Friends) on: Apr 11, 2017
