ANGEL (NELLIE) STARDOM April 1, 1912 - April 4, 2017 It is with great sadness that we say good-bye to our cherished mother shortly after celebrating her 105th Birthday with her family. Nellie is survived by her son Stan Stardom; daughters Helen Shannon, Bonnie (Bob) Jaques, daughter-in-law Marge Stardom; grandchildren: Kenny (Laurie), Janice (Kevin), Derek, Debbie, Cheryl (Ed), Sandy (Mark), Darren, Debra, Jason (Theresa), Mandy (Bevan); great-grandchildren: Season (Justin), Jasmin (Derek), Brett (Meagan), Camron, Nicole, Kathryn (Neil), Michael, Alyssa, Justin, Hannah, Bowen and Brynn; sister Helen Bell and brother Ted Kitkoski, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Marian; son Edward; grandson Lyle; son-in-law Walter; brothers Stan, Frank, Joe and Ralph, and sisters Jean and Stella. Mom was born in Melrose. She dreamed of becoming a teacher but family obligations made it impossible. She married Marian in 1937 and resided in the Anola area their entire life raising four children. Mom was quite talented. She could sew and design clothes. She cut and permed hair for others. She could draw beautifully and paint. She read extensively, enjoyed doing jumble puzzles into old age, and was a shark at cards, Bingo and other games. Mom was a devoted homemaker. Her culinary skills were extraordinary, as anyone who enjoyed a meal at her house would attest. She gardened and canned vegetables, pickles, and fruit by the bushel. Mom gave her whole heart and soul to her family and believed that life was a gift of which God blessed her with 105 years. Our loving mother and grandmother was a true matriarch and rock of our family. Thank you dearest Mom, we love you! Special thanks to her son Stan and grandson Darren for their care and devotion to her in later years. Also to the wonderful staff at the Kin Place, Oakbank where Mom resided for her last five and a half years. A celebration of her life will be held on April 10, 2017 at 12:00 noon, with viewing at 11:00 a.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day St., Winnipeg, Manitoba. • My parents used to visit with Marian and Nellie in Anola many years ago. My Dad , who lived to age 100, and Mom enjoyed their visits immensely, reminiscing old times and relatives. Our sincere condolences to all the family. - Posted by: Patricia Hamilton (nee Starodub) and Gary Hamilton (Cousin many times removed, to deceased husband) on: Apr 12, 2017
