KAREN GROLL It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife and mother, Karen on April 1, 2017 at the age of 59. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Douglas; son David; daughter Jaime; sister Judy (Andy); brother Fred (Debbie); brother-in-law Ross (Kathy); brother-in-law Calvin (Christine); father-in-law Bert; BFF Pat (Roger); half-brother Philip (Sandy) in the U.K. and many numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Her dad George (1979), her mom Ruby (1989), brother-in-law Jeff, and mother-in-law Thea predeceased her. Karen was born in Winnipeg, just a little under 60 years ago, living in various parts of the city with her family until settling down in the east side of the city with her husband to raise a family of her own. She loved many things about life. She liked the caring for and getting together of family and friends to just enjoy life. She loved her job, the people that she worked with and the chance to help people in the community was something that was very important to her. As Karen wanted, cremation has taken place. To celebrate Karen's wonderful life there will be an informal gathering of family and friends later this spring, closer to what would have been her 60th birthday.

Our condolences to Doug, David, Jamie and siblings Judy and Fred and the extended family. I grew up with Karen and while we did not spend a lot of time together; we touched base every few years for family updates. I will miss those calls with Karen, she was also so happy and full of life.
