Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMORRIS SAPOZNIK 1921 - 2017 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Morris Sapoznik, on Monday, March 27, 2017, at the age of 95 years old, with his loved ones at his side. Born in the small town of Berezne, Poland, Morris was predeceased by Hadassah, his beloved wife of 68 years, and his son Ben. He was the cherished father to Bella (Marvin), Samuel and Joseph (Sharon), devoted Zaida to Shira (Eyal), David (Monica), Laura (Fabian), Karlee (Blair), Kaylee (James) and Joshua (Charles) and loving great-grandfather to 12 great-grandchildren. Morris was full of energy, had a passion for history, politics, watching sports, playing cards and dominos, and spending time with family. He was a great story-teller. Having lost most of his family in the Holocaust and being enslaved in Russian labour camps, he managed through strength of will and good fortune to survive the Second World War. Morris worked as an upholsterer for over 30 years. He and Hadassah were able to build a good life for themselves and their children in Canada. The family would like to thank staff and Home Care workers at River Ridge Retirement Home, as well as staff at Fred Douglas Lodge and Kamal, who was a devoted caregiver to Morris in his last few days. A funeral service was held at Etz Chayim Synagogue on March 30. Pallbearers were David Chochinov, Eyal Waldman, Marvin Ben-Ari, Marshall Kneller, Myron Love and Asher Kraut. Donations in Morris's memory may be made to Friends of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights or a charity of your choice. Morris will be missed by all who knew him.
