HONEY (ANNETTE) BERKLE Honey (Annette) Berkle, 69, passed away peacefully early morning, Monday, April 10, 2017 at Avow Hospice, in Naples, FL. Born on August 28, 1947 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Bertha and Max Applebaum. Honey was loved by all who knew her. Honey is survived by her husband of 49 years, Shelly (Sheldon); daughter Jody Berkle; son-in-law Seb Wilcox and grandchildren, Zoe and Zachary Wilcox (Vancouver, BC, Canada); son Matthew Berkle and grandchildren, Ruthie and Baron Berkle (Verona, NJ); as well as siblings, Mimi Bass, Rabbi Neil Applebaum (Toronto, ON, Canada) and Irvin Applebaum (Winnipeg, MB, Canada). She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Sheila Weidman. Honey was a very talented lady. She returned to piano when her children were very young and gained her classical piano teacher certification from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. She was beloved by her children students. She was famous for her unbelievable needlepoint talent with pillows scattered around her home, as well as the homes of her children and close friends. Honey and Shelly travelled the world, including accomplishing her dream of visiting China three times after reading Pearl S. Buck novels as a teenager. No matter where Honey travelled, she always visited art galleries and local artists. Her home is an eclectic collection of art from around the world. Honey's grandchildren were the light of her life. Bubbi Honey was always ready to play whatever games the kids wanted. Thanks to Dr. Mark Rubin, Dr. Kristina Mirabeau-Beale, Dr. Gary Courville, their staff and the staff at Avow Hospice for their caring and compassion. A celebration of Honey's life will be held at Temple Shalom, 4630 Pine Ridge Road, Naples, FL 34119 on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Palm Royale Cemetery, 6780 Vanderbilt Beach Road, Naples, FL 34119.
