I remember both John and Kathleen (Currie) when I was in Grade 10 at Glenlawn Collegiate. It was, I think, around the time they first got together. My homeroom teacher, Mrs. Currie cut her fingers very badly on her lawn mower; and, as I recall the incident it was our first clue that they were a "couple". She told us Mr. Thistletwaite came and helped her to the hospital and finished cutting her lawn. He was the principal and we students were so surprised that HE would help her. She was my favourite teacher and I still name her as a "clue" in some of my passwords on the computer.
