EVELYN JAQUES (nee GRANGER) Evelyn passed away peacefully on April 9, 2017 after a brief illness. Evelyn was born in Winnipeg and spent her adult life in St. Vital area. Evelyn was a woman ahead of her time, working after marriage, attending Red River Community College and the University of Winnipeg after her children were in school, and then working in the St. Vital School Division as a library technician until retirement. She was passionate about exercise, belonging to the Reh-Fit Centre for over 25 years and actively practicing and helping teach yoga into her 80s. Evelyn loved art, working in stained glass and watercolor and has left behind many beautiful pieces for family and friends to enjoy. Evelyn was the centre of our family and will be missed by her children, Monica Girouard (Denis), Mike (Debbie) and Matt (Johanne). She was a very important nana to her grandchildren, Joel, Jaclyn, Sky, Dustin, Rachel, Autumn, Orion, Jessica and Josh. Her Sunday dinners were enjoyed and helped cement the strong bond the grandchildren enjoy. She was Super Nana to Isabelle, Iris, Henry and Oliver. She was predeceased by her husband Murray in 1992 and special friend, George Leith in 1996. There will be no service as per Evelyn's wishes. If friends so desire, a donation can be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
