FRANCES KARPLUK February 9, 1930 - April 7, 2017 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and baba at the age of 87. She left us in order to be reunited with her husband Peter, our dad and gigi. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, John (Josie) and Peter and grandsons Justin and Connor. Frances was born in Pereznye, Hungary. During the Hungarian Revolution, she made her way to Holland. As a refuge, she boarded a passenger ship departing Rotterdam on May 7, 1957 and arrived in Halifax nine days later. Settling in Winnipeg, she met and married the love of her life, Peter, in 1958. During her life working, including having her own cleaning business and daycare, and her time with the 141 Legion, Senior Achievers, and the Bleak House she made lifelong friends. Special thanks to the medical staff of Unit 4 (3rd floor) at Seven Oaks Hospital, and Home Care, for their compassionate care. Funeral service will be held on April 21 at 10 a.m. at the Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney or Heart and Stroke Foundation. We love you mom, babaauntie Frances. And we know what you would want from us: Miss Me But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom-filled room Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little-but not too long And not with your head bowed low Remember the love that we once shared Miss me-but let me go For this is a journey that we all must take And each must go alone.
