Remaining to cherish Mary Louise's memory are her dad Edmondo; sister Teresa; brother-in-law Klaus; nephew Kelsey, as well as her dog Enzo and family. She was predeceased by her mother Loretta. Mary Louise or ML as her family and friends called her, was a school teacher, who throughout her career taught both children and her fellow teachers alike. ML and her team specialized in teaching and preparing lesson plans for fellow teachers on how to engage children, while effectively using computers and technology. ML's kindness and willingness to help others shone through in all aspects of her life, be it caring for her family or helping out someone in need. ML's kind and loving nature will be greatly missed by all her family, friends and loved ones. Miss Lisi (as I knew her), was my grade 2 teacher back in 1983-84 at Mulvey School. She was definitely a big influence in my life and even attended my first communion celebration back in the 80's because she was that important to me. Though I haven't seen her since I left Mulvey School in grade 5, I'm happy that I still have the wonderful memories. My condolences to the family. Rest in paradise, Miss Lisi. - Posted by: Michelle (Former student) on: Apr 22, 2017

Two weeks ago, as I walked by Teresa's former home on Waterloo Street, I suddenly was struck by thoughts of Mary Louise and Theresa. I wondered about the whereabouts of Mary Louise as we use to have chance meetings As she walked her Dog in River Heights. It also brought back fond memories of our youth growing up as schoolmates and neighbours on Addison Crescent. So it was much to my dismay that I read of Mary Louise's passing. She was a lovely, kind souled woman. The whole Peter's family extends their condolances during this difficult time. - Posted by: Renee (Peters) Rempel (Former neighbour) on: Apr 21, 2017

I have had the privilege and opportunity to work and learn from Mary Louise during my years working for the Winnipeg School Division. Mary Louise really made a difference in educating students and staff and empowering them to actively engage everyone in their learning goals. I will miss her pleasant nature and her constant encouragement to take risks and model for her students. Her commitment to helping others was inspiring and will always be remembered. She touched a lot of hearts and really made a difference in the education of many. - Posted by: Quon HUm (Teacher/Collegue) on: Apr 18, 2017

Please accept my condolences to her family and friends. A special lady has been taken from us. I met her when I was hired at the Winnipeg School Division as a District Computer Tech. She was patient, dedicated and a fantastic person 18 years ago I started working as the only "girl" as a District Computer Tech - and even though Mary Louise wasn't a technician - we worked very closely as she reseached software for students and teachers. You were always greeted with a big smile and knew whatever your issue was - she would get to the bottom of it. Her advice to me in my first year for me working in a position that was predominant to men was - "you can be just as tough as the guys - if not tougher - don't back down when your right and thank them when they are right". 18 years later - I'm still a technician - still love my job and still follow her good advice. Rest In Peace Mary Louise and I thank you for the great advice you gave me many years ago. - Posted by: Nanci Harrison (co-worker - WSD1) on: Apr 17, 2017

Mary Louise taught my son Andrew in grade 2 in 1990. She was a caring teacher who nurtured her students and taught Andrew how to read. She introduced computers into the classroom. Andrew has had a love for them ever since. Mrs. Lisi also taught me at computer workshops for Winnipeg School Division in her capacity as a consultant. She was wonderful and inspiring. How sad to hear she has passed away. Miral Gabor - Posted by: Miral Gabor (Son of student and teacher) on: Apr 17, 2017
