Together they raised their 10 children on the original homestead farm. He took the farm over from his father Louis at a very early age and farmed until he was 50 where he continued to help his son Denis on the farm at a leisurely pace. He drove the school bus, and was custodian of Fisher Branch High School until he retired at age 65. For over 20 years, following his retirement, Dad and Mom loved to spend their winters in Palm Springs. Dad was a hard working, honest man who had a real passion for life. He was fun loving, and will always be remembered for his quick wit, teasing and great sense of humour. He will also be remembered for his genuine kindness, his generosity and his warm-heartedness. Besides providing for his large family, Gerry volunteered much of his time to his community and church. He was very strong in his faith and the church was an important part of his life. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the staff at Fisher Personal Care Home (P.C.H.) who treated Gerry and his family with respect, love, care and compassion. Mr Gerry Dandeneau was a great school bus driver and custodian at FBCI who always had time to greet and chat with students, and always to ask about the parents. Gerry alway had a joke on hand and was ready to share a laugh with everyone. His sense of humor will always provide great memories. Gerry was our school bus driver and was extremely patient waiting for all 10+ children to get it together never leaving any of us behind. He always greeted us with a smile and enthusiasm that started each day off positively. Gerry took Nancy and I on a few occasions to Kindergarten by bus ... Just the two of us. They were the loveliest of neighbors. God rest your soul ... Edmond will be happy to see you 💙 - Posted by: Mariette Meilleur-Evans (Family Friend/Former Neighbor ) on: Apr 18, 2017

Uncle Gerry will always be remembered for his love of life, his generosity & always making everyone feel like his own family. He was very kind & we couldn't help but love him for just being himself. David & I spent 2 wonderful weeks in Palm Springs with him & Aunty Margaret playing cards & a special meal together . They were always a lot of fun to be with & he always had that sparkle in his eyes. We have lost a Very,Very Dear Uncle & he will be greeted by his son, Ed & all his siblings that went before him. May you always dance to the music of your loved ones. My sympathies go out to Aunty Margaret for losing the Love of her life & his ever loving Family. - Posted by: Lea Menard (niece) on: Apr 18, 2017
