SUSAN JOHNSTON (nee BERGEN) 1924 - 2017 Susan passed away peacefully, with her daughter by her side, at the Prairie View Lodge in Pilot Mound, MB, on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Susan is survived by her daughter Chris (Jim) Bigelow; her grandson John (Raeanne) Bigelow, great-grandchildren Tyler, Zackery and Katherine; granddaughter Michelle (Tony) Siemens, great-grandchildren Kaylee and Greysen, and Al's son Cameron Johnston. She was predeceased by her husband Al in 2003, her parents Jacob Bergen in 1969 and Maria (Heinrichs-Thiessen) Bergen in 1966; and Al's son Keith in 1971. She was also predeceased by her 10 Thiessen and Bergen siblings. Susan spent most of her career working for Paulin Chambers and made many friends there. She was an avid bowler, gardener and took pride in her appearance, home and yard. She loved her outside Christmas lights which she kept up at her home on Royal Mint Drive until 2010. In the fall of 2011 she moved to Riverwood Square Assisted Living until February of 2015 when she moved out to Pilot Mound to be closer to her family. A special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at Prairie View Lodge who looked after her well, and got to know and appreciate her for who she was. A service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. in Winnipeg. Lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan's memory may be made to the Siloam Mission or Prairie View Lodge in Pilot Mound.
