Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH MAURICE JAMES January 5, 1936 - April 14, 2017 It is with deep sadness we announce Dad's passing on April 14, 2017 at Concordia Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife Anne (2013) and his parents Maurice and Florence James. Ken will be lovingly remembered by his son Greg (Kym), daughter Sheryl and granddaughters Ashley and Breanne. Dad grew up in Fort Garry, met Anne and moved to Transcona in 1959. He worked for the CP Rail and then became a teacher of industrial arts and electrical in Transcona for many years. He went on to work for the federal government (Department of Indian Affairs) until his retirement. He then enjoyed spending winters in Puerto Vallarta which was his second home, where he made lots of friends. Summers he enjoyed spending at the cabin at Lake Wanipigow going fishing and relating to the forest. Dad enjoyed his sports, especially going to the Goldeye's games and the Jet's games with Greg. His couple of years at Park Manor Care Home were enjoyable for him and especially looked forward to "Friday Rye Day" with Sheryl. He also enjoyed spending time with his dogs and cats, they were always great company for him. Thanks to the Park Manor staff who were always so caring with Dad. Cremation and a private family gathering has taken place. We all love and will miss you Dad. In lieu of flowers a donation in Dad's memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Manitoba or a charity of one's choice. Please sign the Book of Memories at www.WheelerFuneral.com

Ken was great to work with and became good friends, he talked a lot about his family and trips to Mexico. He had to go there for the sun since he was "solar powered". Rest in peace good friend - Posted by: Nick Labay (Coworker) on: Apr 28, 2017
