Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERALD (GERRY) W. GOODMAN August 6, 1944 - April 12, 2017 After an intense three month battle with cancer, Gerry passed away on April 12 at the age of 72 years. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judith, his beloved daughter Kim, and his sister Alicyn who will all miss him and cherish his memory. He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Alice. He enjoyed a 20 year career in Real Estate and was very involved in committees for the Winnipeg Real Estate Board. Gerry was ethical and meticulous in all professional and personal matters. In his early 20s he began to participate in various service organizations, devoting most of his time and energy to volunteer activities. His passion for service earned him a Community Service Award from the City of Winnipeg, a life membership in the Association of Kinsmen Clubs and an honorary membership in the Rotary Club of Winnipeg West. His contributions to countless community projects were invaluable and most notably included the Kinsmen Reh-Fit Centre and the Kinsmen Discovery Centre and its handprint wall at the Assiniboine Park Zoo. In recent years, Gerry took particular joy in his involvements with the international students that came to Winnipeg through the Rotary Youth Exchange program. He loved nature - the changing of the seasons, visiting Winnipeg's parks, watching for celestial events and observing the birds and animals that visited his back yard. Special thanks are extended to Dan, John and Peter for their generous assistance to Gerry and his family over these last few months. A private interment has taken place and his family hopes to hold a gathering for his friends at a future date. To honour him, we ask that you consider performing an act of volunteerism or making a donation to a service club or a charity of your choice.
