JAMES (JIMMY) DOUGLAS ORMAN On Tuesday, April 18, 2017, we had to sadly say goodbye to a loving husband, brother, uncle and most of all a great friend. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he was the son of Melvin (Mel) and the late Nancy (Reynolds) Orman. He is survived by his best friend, soul mate and loving wife Brandy (Aronec), sister Christine (Vince), brother John (Jennifer), brother-in-law Cory (Morgan), father and mother-in-law Gord and Barb (Aronec), long time friend / brother Trevor (Pauline) Peddle, his special pal nephew Avery, and his furbaby Digby. He was predeceased by his mother Nancy (Reynolds), sister Ann Marie, and his buddy / furson Riley Roo. Jimmy was an avid sports fan, especially for his love of hockey and baseball. Jimmy had that special glow that everyone was drawn to. He had an infectious laugh and smile that made you feel welcomed. If you were "in his circle" then you were his friend for life, and there was nothing that his kind and gentle soul would not do for you at a moment's notice. He has left a very large void in everyone's heart that will take time to heal. There will never be another person like him. We would like to thank Dr. Ormiston, Dr. Harris and the nurses at Concordia Hospital, especially April, Sandra, Sian and Tamara for their support, and making Jimmy comfortable during this difficult stage of Jimmy's journey. There will be a celebration of Jimmy's life with details to follow. Per his wishes, cremation will take place. Online condolences can be made on Jimmy's Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, a donation to either the Canadian Cancer Society or your nearest Animal Shelter in his name would be greatly appreciated.

  • I was saddened to hear the news of Jimmy's passing. Jimmy was a wonderful friend of mine growing up in Halifax during our elementary, junior high and high school years. I fondly remember our days of ground hockey, pitching hockey cards, playing baseball and engaging in other sports. Jimmy's heart was pure - I don't recall him ever having a bad word to say about anyone. His kindness was unsurpassed. My thoughts and prayers are with Brandy and his family. Jimmy's passing is a terrible loss but I feel incredibly blessed to have known this wonderful man. Barry Mason - Posted by: Barry Mason (Friend) on: Apr 24, 2017
