Date of Passing: Apr 14, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELINE LAVOIE (née DESAULNIERS) January 13, 1924 - April 14, 2017 Passed away peacefully, with Nicole, Michelle and Marcel by her side. Predeceased by her loving husband, Jean Lavoie. Loving mother of Nicole (Martin Parker), Michelle (Trevor Woodside) and Marcel (Nadia Porcari). Devoted "memère" to Michael, Nicholas, Avery, Scott, Sawyer, Juliana and Jacob. Great-grand "memère" to Olivia, Daphne and Alexa. Predeceased by her siblings, Adrien, Henri, Laura, Leona, Jeanne (Saltel), Pauline (Roy) and Maxime. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as sisters-in-law Rose Bruneau and Therese Murie. Born from humble beginnings in Saint-Pierre-Jolys, Manitoba, Eveline worked at the St. Boniface Hospital with Therese Lavoie, who introduced her to her future husband Jean. She was deeply dedicated to her family and to raising her three children. She worked tirelessly at tending to her vegetable gardens at the Lavoie Family Farm on Dawson Road, and canned hundreds of jars of vegetables and preserves each season. Once in Ottawa she worked many years for the Hudson's Bay Company on Rideau Street. When she retired, she cared lovingly for her grandkids. Eveline was a tough prairie girl who was hard working, honest to a fault, and never veered from walking a straight line. We would like to thank Windsor Park for making the Manor her special home for the past eight years. We would also like to the thank the staff at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus, B-5, Doctors Nishikawa and Hartwick as well as the many nurses and PCAs. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at the Windsor Park Manor, 990 Hunt Club Road on Saturday, April 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through Cole Funeral Services at www.colefuneralservices.com

Nicole, Michelle and Marcel, very sad to hear about aunt Eveline's passing, our last immediate living aunt or uncle on the Desaulniers side. We will greatly miss her voice and her smile and the great memories she brought into the conversations about her years in Manitoba. Sympathies to the family. - Posted by: Paul Roy (nephew) on: Apr 22, 2017
