ELLEN MARION LEPINSKY (nee LLOYD) After a short but courageous and dignified battle, our dear mother, Marion, aged 86, passed away on April 17, 2017 at Health Sciences Centre. She is survived by three sons, Richard (wife Aline), Rodger and Raymond; granddaughter Selina (Chris Kuyp); great-granddaughters, Tianna and Talia; and great-grandstepson Josef. She will be remembered by her sister Lillian and brother Walter Lloyd; in-laws, Stancel Lepinsky, Mary and Stanley Lepinsky and their families, many relatives, the St. Stephen's Church community, her good neighbors and many friends. Marion is predeceased by her husband Walter; parents, Hilma and John Lloyd; brothers, Alfred (Alf) and Bob Lloyd and grandson Nathan. Marion was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In 1948, she married Walter Lepinsky in Fort Frances, Ontario and remained with him until his passing in 2007. In the early 50s, they moved to Winnipeg. While raising three sons, teaching Sunday school and helping finish the home she and Walter built, she became a great cook and an outstanding seamstress. She is celebrated for her lifetime of sewing. Her never ending projects included bridal gowns, suits, uniforms, jackets, banners, quilts, drapes and alterations of every kind. For years she took great joy in the Thelma Wynne Project at St. Stephen's church where beautiful handmade layettes of newborn clothing and bedding were created as gifts for Manitoba mothers in need. Marion was a member and National President of The Mother's Union of the Anglican Church of Canada. During her duties she traveled coast to coast and to England for MU Conferences. She attended tea with the Queen Mom as the Canadian Representative. Marion will forever be remembered for her sweet, optimistic, considerate nature and her faith in God. Cremation has taken place and Funeral Service honouring Marion's life will take place at St. Stephen's Church, 220 Helmsdale Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2K 0V9, on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Liz Richen's officiating. Interment will take place in the family plot, Riverview Cemetery, Fort Frances, Ontario at a later date. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the Health Sciences Centre M.I.C.U. If desired, gifts of remembrance in lieu of flowers may be made to the Health Sciences Centre Foundation, MS7 - 820 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1R9 or to St. Stephen's Church, 220 Helmsdale Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2K 0V9.
