Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I am very sorry to learn of Bob's passing. I was fortunate enough to have had the chance to fly with him to Northern Manitoba destinations in the mid-eighties. He truly was a pleasure to work with. May the Lord Jesus sustain you and give you comfort in your loss. My deepest sympathy go out to you and your family. - Posted by: Richard Cousineau (Pilot friend) on: May 01, 2017

  • I am so sorry to hear of Roberts untimely passing . We were in the same class at Rivers Collegiate . I can remember my dad ( Charlie Stalker ) speaking of Robert with great praise when he attended Air Cadets . Many of those air cadets went on to become pilots and Robert was one of them . My sincerest condolences to you and your family . May God be at your side through these difficult times . - Posted by: Sharon Ellis( Stalker) (old schoolmate) on: Apr 30, 2017

  • HIGH FLIGHT by John Gillespie Magee, Jr Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds, --and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of --Wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air... Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace Where never lark or even eagle flew -- And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God - Posted by: Bob Barry (Pilot friend) on: Apr 29, 2017
