Born: Aug 24, 1929
Date of Passing: Apr 27, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLADYS MAE GORCZYNSKI (SWEET) August 24, 1929 - April 27, 2017 Peacefully, surrounded by family, our mother passed at Riverview Health Centre. Predeceased by her husband Edward (Eddy), brother Billy, and sisters Elsie and Bernice. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Dawna (Mark), Janet (John), Joanne, and Paula (Bob); her sister Evie; grandchildren Todd (Lee) and Hayley, and great-grandchildren Lucas, Ellie, Daniel and Arthur. Gladys made friends everywhere she went and leaves a legacy behind. At Riverview she was known as "the lady on the blue scooter" who navigated the facility. Mom loved playing crib, cards and trips to the casino. Mom took pride in being an advocate at the facility to enhance the everyday life of the residents. Mom will live on as the (SHERIFF) in the movie "The Riverview Fugitive", featuring many residents. Mom had a life well lived and made the most of every moment. Sincere thanks to the staff on CD4, Mom's home for over three years.

My sincere sympathies to Dawna and your family. I've heard such wonderful things about your mom. She was quite the lady. I'm sure she passed knowing she was truly loved by her family and friends. - Posted by: Carol Essenburg (friend of Dawna) on: Apr 30, 2017

I worked with Gladys many years ago at General Electric. I have thought of her many times over the years and always with a smile. I am sure she will be greatly missed by family and friends. - Posted by: Sandra Bogden (Friend from General Elctric) on: Apr 30, 2017

Aunty G. was larger than life and touched many hearts. She always left you with a smile on your face. Her love of learning new things and her ability to laugh at herself lead her on many of Life's great adventures. Our family has lost our wonderful matriarch. She will be sadly missed. - Posted by: Judith (Niece) on: Apr 29, 2017
