Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHEATHER LYNCH (nee LAMONICA) After a battle with cancer Heather Lynch (nee LaMonica), 70, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2017 at the Grace Hospice, surrounded by her family. Born August 18, 1946 in Winnipeg, MB she was predeceased by her father Anthony and brother Ken. Heather's number one passion in life was her family. She had the unique ability to make all feel appreciated, cared for and loved. After talking to Heather for 15 minutes you realized that you had been talking to someone who was truly interested in your life. I remember Heather as a great friend. My family moved into 1112 Dudley Ave next door to the Lamonica's when we were in grade 10. As soon as we met, Heather invited me and my sister Ruth, who was a year younger than us, to a St Ignatius CYO dance. I met many good friends through Heather but lost touch with them all when I joined the RCMP in 1965. As a teenager, you could not ask for a better friend or neighbor than Heather and her family. It wasn't until 2014 that I reconnected with Patrick and he gave me Heather's phone number. We caught up with all our old memories and the next time I was to be in Winnipeg, I couldn't get hold of her, so I'm sorry to say I never met any of her "new" family, and I haven't seen Patrick since 1965. My condolences to all of you. - Posted by: John Ellis (Friend) on: Jan 20, 2021

I've met Heather at work, RBC, when I moved to Winnipeg. We were also a neighbors, living close to each other. Heather very quickly became my close friend, like a sister with whom I could share my personal thoughts. She welcomed my family to hers with an open heart. She was always ready to help whenever I asked. She was the same to everybody around - cheerful, loving and caring. After I moved away from Winnipeg we stayed in touch, and she kept to be my wonderful confidant. Thank you Heather for everything, for many years of your friendship. It was an honor to know you and you will never be forgotten. My condolences to Greig, Monica, Kevin, and the whole family. Greig, Monica, Kevin and family. Our love and sympathies to you all at this sad time. We met Heather in Switzerland 12 years ago and instantly knew she was a special soul. We kept in touch via Monica over the years and feel truely grateful for having her love and kindness in our lives albeit infrequently. May she rest in peace knowing her family and friends will hold her close in their hearts. Heather and I go back to the old neighbourhood. Her folks and mine were good friends. We both went to St. Ignatius and St. Mary's schools and later were bridge partners with the St. Ignatius bridge club...she was so much fun...she would get so excited when playing a good hand..her face told it all. I know you will miss her so much Grieg. I still remember her telling Grace and me how excited she was about this new guy she was dating..weren't we surprised when you walked into Champs to meet up with her. Heather had no idea that you, Grace and I had worked together in AC Treasury and knew each other so well. The world has lost a good one...I feel sorry for all of us. - Posted by: Marie Sharpe Schnerch (Old friend) on: Apr 30, 2017

Greig, Monica, Kevin, Pat and families. We were so sorry to hear about Heather's death. Even thought I grew up in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, and she grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, we were always close. Heather, Judie and I had no sisters, so we became sisters of the heart. In 1999, Heather got a Buddy Pass for me, and we both went to Calgary to visit Judie. We had Tee shirts made up saying Codner Cousins Conquer Calgary. When Heather became housebound the past few years, we spent many times a week on Facetime. I am so glad we had Facetime to visit from afar. She loved all of you so much, and was so proud of you. I will miss her. God Speed Heather. Love, Noreen and Harold - Posted by: Noreen and Harold Press (Cousin and cousin's husband) on: Apr 29, 2017

Our sincere condolences to all the family. Heather would have been so very happy to be surrounded by her family. I could write a book about our friendship, which was truly special. Heather was a caring, loving person whose first love was her family, which we were privileged to have spent time with. Heather and I spent many hours playing canasta at both our homes and our cottage in the Townships, which could last all weekend. She was very fond of our Sonia and a special memory for me was her taking Sonia out on the lake in the pedalo and both of them singing, at the top of their voices, in the middle of the lake. Neither one was able to sing in tune, but their happiness reverberated around the lake and they were both so happy. We enjoyed our bridge games with Greig and Heather, which Greig reluctantly agreed to! There are so many memories to treasure and she will remain forever in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear friend. - Posted by: Fay, Ross and Sonia Brydon (Friends) on: Apr 29, 2017

Good morning Greig. I don't know if you remember me from your Enroute credit bureau days. I know that was an awful long time ago but I just wanted you to know you were not my boss at that time but also a good friend. I just finished talking to Sonya another person from your past. Those were the good old days weren't they!! We both wanted to express our sincerest condolences. Everyone will tell you that it will get easier as time goes by but it truly doesn't. It all depends on how you deal with everything ongoing in your life and make sure you lean on those close to you. - Posted by: Brenda Knight (Staff from the old Air Canada days) on: Apr 29, 2017
