Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BUCK) JAMES KNOTT Peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2017, Buck Knott (Papa), passed away at the age of 79 with his family at his side. He was predeceased by his wife Marion in November 2016 and his father Edward; mother Ellen; brothers-in-law, Orville, Elliott and our beloved Kurtis. He is survived by his two children, son Dale (Debbie); daughter Laurie (Jeff); five granddaughters, Jenna (Shawn), Robyn (Doug), Kaylynn, Kenzie (Elana), Aimee; great-granddaughter Ava; great-grandson Greyson; brothers, Ed (Anne), Rodrick (Millie), Roy (Betty), John (Barb), Robert (Diana), Leslie (Sheila), Ken (Lindy); sisters, Mary, Edith, Hazel and Sharon and many other lifelong friends and family. Buck was born in Portage La Prairie on May 8, 1937. Buck and Marion met in Portage La Prairie and it was love at first sight. They were married on November 7, 1959 and moved to Winnipeg in 1962. He worked at FW Sawatzky for most of his career until his retirement. Buck loved the outdoors, spending time with his family at their cottage and winters in Arizona. There are many great memories of family get togethers at the cottage, swimming, water skiing, bonfires and family reunions. The family wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude to the staff at CD2 at Riverview Personal Care Home for their care and compassion. A celebration of Buck's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In Buck's memory, if friends desire, a donation can be made to Parkinson Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society.
