HILDA TURLAND On Friday, April 28, 2017, Hilda Turland passed peacefully at Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 90 years. Left to survive Hilda are her two sons, Barry (Margaret) and David (Virginia); six grandchildren, Brendan, Jennifer, Kate, Derek, Jim, Laurie and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon; daughter Patricia Anne and grandson Jeffrey. Hilda was born in Middlesbrough, England where she grew up and received her education. She served in the WAC (Women's Air Corp) during the Second World War. She then moved to Canada in 1946, settling in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Hilda lived in Europe a number years before returning to Winnipeg, Canada. She settled in St. James where she raised her family. Mom worked at Eaton's Warehouse a number of years, which was a job she enjoyed. After retirement, she and Gordie took up golf which became their passion. Wing 17 Air Base was their place to go. Mom was a member of ANAVETS where she and Dad enjoyed the social activities as often as possible. Both Mom and Dad had many good friends at ANAVETS. There will be a private service for family and close friends only. More info to come. Our family would like to acknowledge the care and exceptional kindness at Deer Lodge Centre, 3 East.
