CHRISTOPHER ROBERT INMAN It is with great shock and sadness that the family of Robert Inman announce his passing on April 25, 2017, after an unexpected illness at the age of 59. Rob was born in Winnipeg on October 11, 1957. He attended Crane Elementary School, Viscount Alexander Junior High School, and Vincent Massey High School. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Manitoba and never lost his passion for history; avidly researching his lineage and sharing these stories with family and friends. Rob was a long-time employee of Givenchy, working at the Hudson's Bay Company in Winnipeg. He was also an active member in the community, supporting the Variety Club, the Jubilee Club, and was involved with the Liberal Party. Throughout his life, Rob spent his summers in Kenora on Coney Island where he grew a vast network of friends due to his magnetic personality and genuine interest in getting to know others. Many people knew Rob from his work at the Blue Heron in Kenora. He will be remembered as a true gentleman, outgoing and ready to party, and was known for getting people out on the dance floor. Rob was very generous with his time, always considering friends and family before himself. He was the glue that held our family together and was beloved by many. Predeceased by his father Charles Douglas, survived by his mother Vera Jean, sisters Linda McDermid (John), Sandra Lynne Mitchell (Jim) and their children Robert, Jennifer and Christine. We are especially grateful to Rob's close friend Rita Borthwick, for her support and friendship. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks for the care and compassion shown by the staff at the Winnipeg Victoria Hospital (4 South), and especially to Dr. Sharma for his forthright pragmatism and sympathy. Please join us in celebrating his life and sharing memories of this wonderful man on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald St. The family would be pleased to have friends share any recollections and anecdotes about Rob during the reception following the celebration. If you wish, donations can be made to the Children's Hospital, Variety Club or the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO. What a shock to hear of " Robbie's " passing. We grew up on the same street and luckily saw each other over the years, usually over Christmas at the Bay. Such a kind, wonderful person. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Susan Meagher ( Kerr ) (Friend) on: May 05, 2017

The true Robert Inman was a true gentleman from the beginning to the end. I had worked with him when I was a fragrant demonstrator in the old years. Robert has this incredible aura that makes people very happy. He was loved by so many people. My heart is still breaking hearing about his passing. He will be loved forever! Rob always added a special touch of class to our cosmetic events. It is many years since I worked with him but still we had some nice chats when I was passing through the fragrance department. He will be missed. - Posted by: Eileen Batt (coworker) on: May 05, 2017

Rob and I (as well as many others) grew up together on Coney Island. It was a blast and we formed relationships that are life long. Condolences to Vera and all of the family. A terribly sudden loss for all who knew Rob. Coney will not be the same without him. Evie - Posted by: Evie O'Flaherty (Coney Island Friend) on: May 04, 2017

Robert and I were engaged to be married when we were in Kindergarten. They say you never forget your first love and it's true. I hold a special place in my heart for Robert. Over the years, I would bump into him at the Bay or in Kenora and we would have a good catch-up chat. He was the warm, kind, and caring person I remembered. And still pretty darn handsome too! My sincere condolences to his family and friends. - Posted by: Liz Poyser (Friend) on: May 02, 2017

A happy giving man who was loved and admired by all who knew him. He was an active member of the Liberal Party during my years as Leader and I was always deeply grateful for his support. The good die far too young and he was one of the best. His family and Rita are in my thoughts and prayers. Sharon - Posted by: Sharon Carstairs (Friend) on: May 01, 2017

I worked with Rob at The Bay St.Vital for the past 3 years. Rob wasn't just a co-worker he was a true friend . He always knew how to make me laugh, he always saw the bright side of things. We spent many late night shifts at the bay around Christmas time just talking , oh how I'm gonna miss our talks . When you talked to Rob you just weren't talking to anyone, he was in a class of his own. He was smart, funny and classy. There isn't anything he didn't know about fragrances, I looked up to him . I will miss his beautiful smile, and the way he'd tease me when I couldn't sell his line of Givenchy fragrances for him . My heart goes out to his family, I know this has to be so hard . May Rob rest in peace , and I hope he'll come visit us and watch over all of us . I love you Rob , RIP sweetheart ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘 - Posted by: Emily Delia (Co-worker ) on: May 01, 2017
