EDWARD L. DUMA Edward Duma, aged 94, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully Friday night, April 28, 2017, his son by his side. Born February 25, 1923, in Brokenhead Municipality. He was the son of the late Julia Kaplinski (Tychowicz) and Anthony Duma. He grew up in Ladywood with six brothers and three sisters. Dad built a very successful home building business along with his brother Frank called Ed Duma Construction and Duma Builders. Crafting fine homes was his passion and Duma homes are very highly regarded today even though dad retired many years ago. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Alexis Duma (Welichka); along with two sons, Clayton and Allen (Diane); three brothers, Casey (Nellie dec.), Tony (Elsie), Larry (Sally dec.); two sisters, Helen (Joe dec.) and Dallas (Tony); three grandchildren, Adam (Raena), Heather (Darren) and Keith (Michelle); two great-grandchildren, Branson and Avram; and many other loving nieces, nephews and relatives. Dad was predeceased by three brothers, Frank (Betty dec.), Joe (Rose dec.) and Gene (Eleanor); as well as sister Carol (Paul dec.). Dad loved to travel and took the family to Disneyland, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone Park, Niagara Falls, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI to name a few. He headed off countless times with his campervan and trailer with mom as navigator. Dad loved the outdoors and spent many happy hours helping me with my landscaping and gardens. His phone never stopped ringing with calls for advice and requests to help fix or build a new project along with my brother Clayton. Ed was the kindest, most caring, gentlest yet strongest person I have ever known and will be greatly missed by all of us whose lives he touched. A private Memorial service, officiated by Father Taras will be held for family at Green Acres Funeral Home. We would like to thank Dr. Canners and the caring staff of Concordia Hospital for their great support with dad. We will miss you very much Dad.
