RONALD HINCE (HINCY) October 20, 1939 - May 2, 2017 With his loving wife by his side, Ron suddenly passed away. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife Diann, sister Audrey, children Lorraine (Ed), Diane (Meryl) and Ron; brother Raymond (Pat), children Richard (Sonia), Sylvie (Dwayne) and Danielle, also his brother Leo. Ron is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Olga, Margaret (Willy), Josie, Evelyn (Clarence), Bettyann (Ed), Don and their extended families. He was predeceased by his father Romeo, mother Florence, and brother-in-law Bill. Ron was born in Winnipeg and went to school in St. Boniface. He worked for the Free Press and retired from Revenue Canada after 33 years. Ron had a passion for sports and gymnastics and spent many evenings at the Winnipeg Canoe Club. Ron kept our home and cottage very organized. He was my handyman. Many summer weekends have been spent at our cottage in Grand Marais with many cherished friends. "Hincy" as known to family and friends had a zest for life and hosted many memorable parties. We spent Octobers in Florida and wintered in Mexico. We travelled to Australia three times, loving time in the sun and walking on the beaches. Ron and I shared true love, we were the love of each other's lives and we were happily married for 48 years. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the Niakwa Country Club, 620 Niakwa Rd. A big thank-you to Aurèle LeClaire from LeClaire Brothers for his help with funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Hopefully our paths will cross again "on the beach"! God Bless you! Love and Prayers! - Posted by: Pam and Mark Rabas (Florida friends) on: May 21, 2017

  • Diane, we are so very sad to hear of the passing of your beloved Ron! We so enjoyed Ron's advice on multiple subjects and his knowledge of Mexico. We loved to hear his stories and especially about the best places to eat in Rincon on which he was an expert!! We know how much of a loss this will to you because of your close relationship and there wasn't much you didn't do together. He was a lovely person with a great sense of humour and he will be missed by the snow birds at Torre Blanca. Treasure all the memories you made and shared together which will help you during this most difficult time - our thoughts are with you Diane. Sympathy and love sent to you .. • Dear Diane, we have learned the sad news. Our hearts are crying. You and Ron have been so nice to us. On our first year in Rincon, you were the first ones who introduced us to the group which facilitated us in familiarizing ourselves with the people and the place. Ron had a valuable, sensible, and well balanced understanding of people and events. We will greatly miss him, especially Daniel who considered him as a friend and confident. He was looking forward to get together with him again. Daniel still has the 500 monopoly pesos that he will keep as a precious souvenir of Ron. Our most sincere condolences. • As a neighbor on Central Avenue Grand Marais -I continued to observe and celebrate a couple who exuded a love of life and a love of each other! Your walks past my cottage as you either headed to the front beach to absorb the sun-sand and beauty of Grand Beach or at the beginning or end of Happy Hour as you walked by with "Beer" in hand -laughing and just enjoying life-I to celebrated! Diann your loss of your best friend has me send a stranger's condolences to you BUT -those condolences are filled with a sincere thank you to you and to Ron for modelling a life of love-friends-and fun. Thank you from that neighbour at Grand Marais -not a close friend-but someone who will remember the laughter and the love that was so evident every time the two of you walked by on Central! • I was so sad to see Ronnie's passing today and I know that Bob will be waiting for him and probably lining up a game of handball a.s.a.p. ,just like old times. I shall never forget the fabulous HALLOWE'EN parties that you both hosted and the ready smile and happy greeting always there whenever Ron would see you. A rare fellow. My thoughts are with you and your family, Diann during this very sad time. • Ron was never short of colorful stories. Between adventures, misadventures, and the odd narrow escape - either on his own or with Diann at his side, it was obvious his was a life well lived - and loved. And while he was always quick entertain, tease, and welcome friends and family into his home and refrigerator, what I will really miss is his wealth of wisdom. If you ever had a question, Ron at some point had already been there or done that. Ron would sometimes reflect that he no longer bought green bananas because of the long road he had already traveled. But knowing Ron, I am sure he is already finding his way into and out of new adventures and sharing those stories with everyone he meets. Till we meet again Amigos. - Posted by: Glenn Leipz (Buddy) on: May 06, 2017
