Loved and forever remembered by her family, Bernhard and Lynn and her granddaughters Krista and Jocelyn. Clara was predeceased by her first born son Bernhard Zehring, her father Michael, mother Berta, brothers Jakob (Ursula), Adolf and Alfred, sisters Elenore and Maria. She leaves to mourn her brother Paul and his wife Sigrid of Oldenburg, Germany who had provided a source of strength and love from so far away. Memories of her childhood with her family in Germany made her so very happy and she was fortunate to make a memorable trip home in 1993. Clara grew up in Hanover, Germany immigrating to Canada in 1959 with her husband Bernhard Zehring and their son who passed away upon arrival in Quebec at the age of six. Their second son was born in Canada in 1960. Clara's second marriage was to Edward Gmiterek 1969 to 1973. Clara was a hard-working, loveable and selfless person. She loved and supported her family through good and difficult times. Clara had a strong relationship with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She prayed for many things and every night she prayed for her family. Oma was extremely present in her granddaughter's lives, taking them to the parks, playing games, having days over, sleep overs, and playing with them wholeheartedly. Krista her beauty and Jocelyn her little one have many funny stories and cherished memories of their time with Oma. Clara provided for her son and herself by working in Winnipeg, Manitoba as a hairdresser at Joy's Beauty Shop, then at Walter Woods, and lastly as a cook for West Park Manor Personal Care Home retiring in 1994. She was a loyal and hard-working employee, compassionate in her role to serve others. Over the last 30 years Clara enjoyed her times spent with the MacIntyre and Korell families. She had many fond memories, reflected on them always, and cherished all of you. Heart loving thanks to the staff and volunteers of Park Manor Care and to her fellow residents for friendship. You were family to her and she was never lonely. Thank you to the Seventh Day Adventist Church for your ministry and the visits she received by the congregation. Clara will be placed to rest by her family privately; therefore, we would appreciate you sharing your special memories of Clara with one another to celebrate her beautiful life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Park Manor Care Building Fund. Dear Mom You will always be a precious part of our hearts and we are forever grateful for you. Love Bernie, Lynn, Krista, and Jocelyn
