JEAN BILYK
Born: Dec 04, 1922
Date of Passing: Apr 29, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN BILYK (nee JENNIE PAWLITSKY) December 4, 1922 - April 29, 2017 Peacefully, in her 94th year, Jean left this life to be with her Lord and family. Beloved mother of Sharon (Gary) of Sorrento, BC; and nana to Lorissa, Marnie, Tami, Terri, Robin, Sarah and Bobbie. She is survived by sisters, Rose, Mary, Nadia and brother Marcel. She was auntie to many loved nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her first husband Stanley Richards; second husband Dmetro Bilyk; and son Robert (Bob) Richards. In her lifetime, she saw the loss of six siblings, Lena, Florence, Leo, Mike, Tony and Annie. Jean was the sixth child in a family of 11, born to Stanley and Nellie Pawlitsky of Sclater, Manitoba. Raised on a farm setting, her younger years were filled with love, music, her church, hard work and laughter. During the early war years, she moved to Winnipeg, where she met her first husband. In 1943, her daughter Sharon was born, followed by her son Bob seven years later. Jean remarried in her later years and lived contently in Pine River, MB until health issues arose. She relocated to Oakview Extended Care in Winnipeg, where she received excellent care and affection, for which her family is eternally grateful. Without the care of her wonderful niece, Ruth Mills and family, her years at Oakview would have been a greater challenge, as her daughter lives in BC. Respecting her wishes, there will be no funeral service. Jean's ashes will be buried at the Pine River United Church cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society toward children's leukemia, in memory of Jean Bilyk. Vichnaya Pam'yat See you on the other side

My sincere condolences to the entire family members. Jean's son Robert was a growing up friend of mine who taught me how to play a guitar and while we jammed, Jean served us pastry and pop. You were a great mother and I miss your son! - Posted by: Orest Zaretzky (Friend of the family) on: May 15, 2017

Such a beautiful tribute to Auntie Jean, she was a sister to my late father, Leon Pawlitsky. Very proud of the strength and closeness of our family. - Posted by: Susan & Frank Morabito & family (Niece) on: May 13, 2017
