THERESA MAIN (nee MAYDANIUK) It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Theresa on May 7, 2017. She will be lovingly missed by her husband John, of nearly 48 years; their daughter Laurie (Stephane) Joly; son David (Alana); two precious grandchildren, Michael and Nicole; her mother Mary (Sandy Lake Personal Care Home); sister Evange (Angelo) and brother Eddie, and extended family. She was predeceased by her father, Frank Maydaniuk. Theresa, born April 17, 1946, a farm girl from Rossburn, came to Winnipeg after high school and went to work at the Manitoba Clinic. In 1968, Theresa met the love of her life, John Main at the "5th Day Club" in the ballroom of the Marlborough hotel. They were married within the year. Theresa stopped working and began raising their family. She enjoyed their children, Laurie and David, and of course their dogs and other various pets. She loved her garden and later, cottage life with their grandchildren. Theresa fought hard against her medical issues; depression, anxiety and diabetes, but always enjoyed family dinners and especially the achievements of her children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation Geriatric Psychiatry or Winnipeg Humane Society. A celebration of Theresa's life will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd, Winnipeg. Viewing will take place prior to the service at 12:30 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

My deepest sympathy to all of Theresa's family. My fondest memories of Theresa include having her drop into the typing room when I was struggling with my "Typing by Correspondence" class and she would help me correct my errors, so that my "budgets" would be passed when they were mailed in. Theresa always had a smile and a glint in her eye. I really enjoyed chatting with her at our "Rossburn Get Togethers" and I know she will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Pat Pitcher (Moffat) (high school friend) on: May 16, 2017

I met Theresa and Laurie when I was a student in Winnipeg, during Folkarama. She was such a friendly person and welcomed my HK friend and me into their home for special occasions. I especially remember our Thanksgiving visit. Theresa was such a warm-hearted, cheerful and kind person, despite her struggles with medical issues. She and John were a lovely couple who raised their children Laurie and David very well. Goodbye, Theresa. Rest In Peace. I'll miss you, my friend. I know you've gone to a place where you'll be fine and taken care of by angels. To: John, Laurie and David, I offer my condolences. - Posted by: David Phua (Friend) on: May 15, 2017

As a childhood friend to Theresa's son David, there was no limit to her kindness and generosity. I will never forgot her happy, smiling nature, and how she took such loving care of her family, friends, and those around her. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to John, Laurie, David and family. - Posted by: Lyon Lloyd (Friend) on: May 14, 2017
