WILSON B. BROWN Wilson B. Brown died in his 80th year on May 15, 2017. Born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey in 1938, he was the first in his family to attend college. He graduated from Brown University and earned his Ph.D. from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts. Wilson received Fulbright Fellowships to work in Peru and Thailand, and taught first at Colby College and later at Northern Illinois University. From 1983 to 2004, he taught economics at the University of Winnipeg. He and his wife Jennifer moved to Denver in 2011. Lover of flowers, writer of poetry, student of languages, and substitute father to many, he complemented his academic teaching and writing with warm interests in nature and people. He generously supported Jennifer's career and took immense pride and joy in being a father and grandfather. His career as a professor made it possible to spend summers on a beloved Georgian Bay island in Ontario where he could swim, pick blueberries, and make jam and pie. Wilson is survived by his wife, Jennifer, son, Matthew (Beth Montgomery), two granddaughters, Katherine and Sophia, and Guillermo Salas of Argentina. A memorial will be held June 2 at 1:30 p.m. at First Plymouth Congregational Church, 3501 S. Colorado Blvd., Cherry Hills Village, CO 80113. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church for support of music or pastoral care.
