MARY PARK RIDDELL TAYLOR
Date of Passing: May 15, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY PARK RIDDELL TAYLOR (nee TUCKER) 1929 - 2017 Baking, bank account reconciliation, and lake swimming lost a talented practitioner when Mary died on May 15, 2017. Born in Winnipeg and deprived of knowing her father due to his tragic death, Mary grew up in a family of strong women. In her youth Mary was a figure skater, badminton player, and basketball player. In adult life she was a sportswriter and CBC production assistant. After meeting and marrying her beloved husband Harry, Mary's world skewed to the Y chromosome raising three loving sons. She threatened to write a tell-all memoir titled "Life In The Locker Room" when Harry Jr., Rob and Norm left home. They delighted her by marrying wonderful women, Pam, Lesa, and Christy-creating chromosomal balance within the family. As grandchildren proliferated Mary showered Ryan, Connor, Jordan, Rachel and Sophie with love, support and . . . gingerbread boys. Family, friends, and acquaintances in Winnipeg, Victoria Beach and Toronto could count on Mary for incredible caring, kindness and thoughtfulness. While she has left this world, Mary has reunited with her mother, father, sister, brother-in-law and uncle. She is likely busy preparing a place for us, so when we join her we will be comfortable. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Mary's life at the Donalda Club, 12 Bushbury Dr., Don Mills on June 10 at 12:00 noon. Please join us for some stories, some laughs, some tears . . . and some baking! A private interment at St. John's Cathedral cemetery in Winnipeg will follow on July 21.
