ARTHUR KEENA Peacefully, on May 24, 2017, Arthur Keena passed away with his devoted wife, Rose, and his family by his side. Art will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rose (nee Bonneteau), with whom he recently celebrated 60 years of marriage; his children, Gerry (Pat), Jo-Ann Berndsen (Corry), Lynn Lafreniere (Paul), Kathy Dube (Leo), Norma Lambert (Andy), Arthur (Robyn) and Susan Grossman (Norm), as well as 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Art was born in Winnipeg on February 13, 1939. He was predeceased by his parents, Norman Keena and Rose (nee Laferriere), stepfather Alcyme Dubourg and grandson Timothy. He is survived by his siblings, Norm, Louise, Paul, Paulette and Alcyme. Art was a hard-working man and held many jobs to care for his family, including Maple Leaf Mills and the Winnipeg School Division, and was always involved in the community. Art was devoted to making family memories a priority, from camping to fishing and endless card games. He had a special bond with his grandchildren, which they will cherish forever. His most treasured memory was building his own cottage with his family. The family extends its heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Actionmarguerite for over four years of excellent care. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or Actionmarguerite Foundation. Cremation has taken place, arranged for the family by LeClaire Brothers. A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
