ANNE LOUISE BOYCE (nee NEMISH) December 12, 1928 - May 27, 2017 After a lengthy battle with cancer and other complications, Anne passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the age of 88 years. Anne will be sadly missed by her two loving sons; two grandsons; one great-grandson, whom she loved and cherished; brother John; in-laws; nieces; nephews as well as numerous friends and neighbours. On December 12, 1928, Anne was born in Saskatchewan and grew up on a farm about 10 miles north of Krydor. At the tender age of 16, she moved on her own to Winnipeg, where her career started in a sewing factory. Anne later worked for the Hudson's Bay Company as a sales clerk, then as a department supervisor, advanced to a career in finance (Eatons/Bay Financial Services), then finally started her own commercial/general contracting business (Royal Oak Construction). She was the first female commercial general contractor in Winnipeg in 1981. Anne, her husband Henry (predeceased), and the children travelled extensively within North America. Later she and Henry travelled annually to see the world. She also enjoyed golf, cribbage, dancing, music and attending regular activities at ANAVETS where she had been a long-time member and supporter. Anne lived a happy, full and eventful life. May she now rest in peace. For those who wish, viewing will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Boulevard. A private family Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in Brookside Cemetery. Following Anne's Graveside Service, a reception will be held in Wojcik's Reception Centre, 2157 Portage Avenue. Pallbearers will be Harry Ethans, Tom Ethans, Ray Hignell, Dave Gemmell, Ken Giesbrecht and Stu Bauer. Honorary Pallbearers will be everyone who shared in Anne's life. Our family would like to thank the doctors and staff for the excellent care and attention they provided to our loving mother and grandmother. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Anne's memory may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, C1026 - 409 Tache Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6.
