Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLA INGEBORG WILSON (nee SALMONSON) May 12, 1931 - May 30, 2017 Peacefully on May 30, 2017 at Donwood Personal Care Home, Vi went to be with her Lord and Saviour. Vi was born in Stratton, Ontario, one of six children born to Jonas and Gerda Salmonson. The family moved to Winnipeg in 1943 and she completed her schooling at Daniel McIntyre. On August 14, 1954, Vi married David Wilson at Calvary Temple. She served there as a faithful member for 74 years. Vi worked at different jobs but her highest priority was being a homemaker and Mom to her children. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 62 years, David, two sons, Grant (Janet), Gary (Sandra) and daughter Joanne (Jim Poirier), eight much loved grandchildren, Angela, Mark (Tara), Bonnie (Stephen Mitchell), Carina, Todd, David, Liana (Daniel Chandran), and Scott; one great-grandson Connor; two sisters, Sarah (Ken Gaetz), Edith (Harvey Benson) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Vi was predeceased by her parents, her sister Anna Wilkinson, and her brothers Alrik and Joel Salmonson. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Temple, 440 Hargrave Street. Pastor Bruce Martin will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vi's memory to Calvary Temple Missions. Joanne, Grant and family. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. It's never easy to lose a parent. Whenever I would see your mom she had a beautiful smile on her face and was such a lovely lady. Also, Joanne thank you for your kind words of support after my mom's passing.
