BARRY CAPLAN Peacefully, June 2, 2017, Barry Caplan, husband of Sandra, passed away at the age of 84 years. Funeral to take place Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue. Longer obituary to follow.

I worked as Dr. Caplan’s MOA forty years ago and am saddened to learn of his passing. Dr. Caplan was a kind and gentle soul who worked long and hard hours as a dedicated physician, often to his own detriment. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and teaching me concepts in urology. He was a lovely man to work for along with his wife Sandra. My condolences to his family. Dr. Caplan offered me a job and to share partnership with him and Dr. Decter....a real honor even BEFORE I finished. I enjoyed working with him and he was an excellent teacher. Once you got to know him it was a joy talking to him and/or sharing cases/experiences. We shared call together years later as we took him on staff at Seven Oaks. It was a pleasure working with him as he continued pursuing education EVEN after he retired obtaining another degree!!! Knew Barry and family as neighbours approx. 20 years ago. Friendly, gentle man who was much better known for his surgical than for his handyman skills.
