EVANGELINE (PENNY) KNIGHT 1935 - 2017 It is with deep sorrow that we announce that our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away peacefully, on June 2, 2017, at the age of 82. Penny leaves to cherish in her memory, her children, Brian, Cindy (Perry) and Lisa; grandchildren Tess (Kurtis) and Lex (Ashley), and great-grandchild Jax. She adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment she spent with Jax. Penny lived a wonderful life. After marrying her love, Donald in 1954, they settled in Transcona, where they raised their family. She and Don loved to spend winters down south in Arizona. After Don passed, she moved into Devonshire House in Transcona where she lived out the rest of her years. Despite her health problems, she never complained; always had kind words and a smile on her face. She enjoyed all the friends she made there, her outings and going to bingo weekly. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place with Wheeler Funeral Home. No service or memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manitoba Arthritis Society. The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital A7 West for their exceptional care; also, to all the home care workers and nurses who attended to her daily. "Memories are like a thread of gold, they will never tarnish nor will they grow old."
